Michael's car(s)
In the photo above I'm standing next to the 35-year old BMW 2002 that I'd planned to be driving around Vancouver Island.
But as fate would have it (see my 2nd Post), I'm driving a 19-year old Volvo 240 sedan instead.
And -- look closely -- that very Volvo is ALSO shown in this photo.
(How in the world did I ever manage to drive these 2 cars into the same Chevron station, you may wonder? Well... I'll never tell.)
This venerable Volvo is the car I brought back to the U.S. in 1992 after my 4 years of working for Johnson and Johnson in Europe. It's been driven less than 6,000 miles/year since new, and it seems very well suited to the Vancouver Island trip. Latitudes and landscapes are much like its native Sweden. Serious sunroof weather is an unexpected bonus.
